Medicine Songs Workshop in Hebden Bridge
Back in September I held my first Medicine Songs Workshop in Hebden Bridge and was encouraged by those who came to come back soon to do another one. I was touched by the sharing within the circle we co-created and I am very much looking forward to coming back to hold another one for the Winter Solstice.
Even though I call these events "workshops", they are actually more of a ceremony. Holding a ritual space wherein we can learn and share "medicine songs" creates the potential to really meet the incredible transformational power of music in a prayerful way. This is a beautiful opportunity to explore what it means to share our voices whilst holding a prayer in our hearts, and through our intentions connect with the forces of love, of nature and the spirit of life.
I am sincerely humbled by this exploration and am grateful to respond to the calling of holding such a space as this. People have told me that experiencing this work has restored their faith, and for this I am so very grateful. This is the power of medicine music.
You are welcome to bring your instruments, particularly a drum, rattle and/or guitar, however this is not essential for in truth your voice is all you really need. Perhaps a pen and paper may also come in handy, and ESPECIALLY REMEMBER TO BRING SOMETHING TO SIT ON.
Places in this workshop will be limited to keep the sharing intimate and focused, so if you are thinking to come I recommend buying a ticket in advance to secure your place.
